Objective

Develop strategies for engaging students.

Instructions

1. Design a generic lesson incorporating at least three engagement strategies for any subject or grade level.
2. Create a list of five quick, engaging activities that can be used as “brain breaks” during long lessons. Be sure to include activities for different grade levels.

Include these strategies and activities in your portfolio under the section “Student Engagement.” This will be part of your “Substitute Teacher Toolkit.”
