Your Role in Supporting Students with Disabilities

• Ask the school administrator if there are any students on an IEP when you are assigned a class; there may be a teacher assistant assigned to support these students.
• Follow any special instructions in the lesson plans for these students.
• Be patient and give extra help when needed.
• Treat all students with respect, regardless of their abilities.
• If unsure about supporting a student with a disability, ask the school office for guidance.
