Objective

Develop a comprehensive understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities, including student privacy and mandatory reporting.

Instructions

1. Review your state’s specific laws on mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect.
2. Outline the steps for mandatory reporting of suspected abuse or neglect, including who to contact and what information to document as it relates to your school/district.
3. Develop a personal code of ethics that includes three to five principles you will follow as a substitute teacher.
