About Me

Shawn McCusker is an author and Senior Director of Professional Learning at EdTechTeacher. He has 25 years of experience as a teacher and leader in public, private and alternative schools.  His book “Becoming Active Citizens” was published by Solution Tree Press. He is passionate in his belief in student centered experiential learning and the power of student storytelling. He was an early innovator in the creation and organization of online learning communities via Twitter such as #sschat and #1to1techat. As an expert in technology integration his lessons and student products have been featured in the Journal,  Educational Leadership and the Huffington Post. In 2006, he was recognized as a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2016 he was named a Top Trailblazing Educator on Twitter by eSchoolNews.
