| About Me |
I am a wife, mom, Teacher-Librarian, a former Literacy Consultant, and the author of Social LEADia: Moving Students from Digital Citizenship to Digital Leadership, Raising Digital Leaders: Practical Advice for Families Navigating Today’s Technology, and the co-author of the Aubrey Bright children’s book series focusing on Digital Citizenship. She is an Ontario Google Educator Group leader, a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer, a co-founder of the Global Student Chat. I have a Masters in Curriculum and Technology with a specialization in social media in education. I have had the honour of being a presenter, featured speaker, and keynote speaker at conferences such as ISTE, TCEA, TIES, ASCD, CUE, The Calgary Teacher Association, The Ontario Principal’s Council, and The Texas Library Association to name a few. At school, I am the Extended Essay coordinator (IB school), teacher advisor for the Anti-Bullying committee, DECA, Student Council, Relay for Life, and the book club. My role as teacher-librarian allows me to co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess innovative lessons in a variety of subject areas. When not busy at school, I am in 3 book clubs Curl in the winter and golf in the summer. I am also a fair-weather, for fun runner and just joined a cross-fit gym (which so far has made me more sore than strong). I am passionate about showing teachers, parents and students how they can use technology and social media to make the world a better place. |
