Author Bio | David Tchozewski has served the PreK-12 education community for over 35 years in a variety of roles. His most recent position was Director of Information Technology for Kenowa Hills Public Schools in Michigan. Â Mr. Tchozewski began his teaching career at Port Huron Northern High School in Port Huron, MI, but has spent the majority of his career in Jenison Public Schools. Before retiring from Jenison in 2016, he spent his last eight years as the Director of Information Technology, where he led the district in providing access to technologies that positively impact teaching and learning. Mr. Tchozewski oversaw bond projects that provided for growth and expansion of the wireless network, classroom technology, and the number of mobile devices available to staff and students. He also served Jenison schools for over 20 years as a district School-to-Career Coordinator, high school mathematics teacher, and golf and basketball coach. Â Following his retirement from Jenison Public Schools, he worked with Discovery Education as an Online Learning Community Manager, supporting over 30,000 Discovery Education users with an online community where they could learn, share, and connect with each other. Â Mr. Tchozewski later joined Kenowa Hills Public Schools, where he was their Director of Information Technology until his second retirement. Â Currently, Mr. Tchozewski spends some of his retirement time volunteering as a Technology Specialist with the non-profit Expeditions in Education. Â Mr. Tchozewski holds a Master of Educational Leadership and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Grand Valley State University. He previously served as president of the Jenison Chamber of Commerce and was selected as their Business Person of the Year in 2005. Â Mr. Tchozewski and his wife of 33 years (CJ) enjoy traveling to their favorite places, including Mackinac Island, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. Locally, they support Jenison athletics as scorekeepers, clock operators, and more for football and basketball. They have two grown children who reside in the Grand Rapids area. |
